Digital December Daily : Day Sixteen

Soooo close to being caught up. (That Vegas trip really disrupted my rhythm didn’t it?!) Today I have day 16 to share–a memory that actually happened on the first of the month. I have found that focusing on holiday or winter themed memories (with a page or two specific to each girl’s personality right now) is what I have wanted our December album to be about.

So onto my page! Here is Day 16:

Day 17 is halfway done, and day 18 should be a snap. We saw Santa that day and have TONS of photos. I am very excited to conquer that page. If naps go as planned, those pages should all be posted by tonight!

Katie - What a fun breakfast!

Digital December Daily : Days Fourteen and Fifteen

Working hard on catching up on my December Daily! Days Fourteen and Fifteen bring us a page dedicated to Marie (Holly had one on Day Six) and a page about our latest craft projects from our Kiwicrate subscription–making ornaments!

First a look at the two pages together:

Day 14 on its own:

Day 15 on its own:

We visited Santa yesterday, so there is a fun double-page spread coming up soon–along with more adventures of our little elf Gracie. Who keeps forgetting to move. Which reminds me….I better think of somewhere to put her.

A mom’s work is never done is it?!

PS–check out the b/w photo of Marie above, is that little upside down stance not the cutest thing ever?!?! She does it ALL of the time. Wait until you see my Project Life layout for this week–I have a 6×12 photo of this stance close up that will just melt your heart!

julie - i am so enjoying your dd!!!

Digital December Daily : Day Twelve and Thirteen

Day twelve is all about puzzles. I referenced Holly and my love of completing puzzles in my Project Life this week and decided that it would also make a great addition to my December Daily album. I tried to use different photos in each album–but told the same story. It’s all good! I am so glad that Holly and I have found something to do together that will be something we can always do together no matter our ages. I have already bought next year’s holiday puzzle for us to tackle! I am starting to realize that in a few years I am going to have collected enough December traditions to fill up the entire month:)

Day Thirteen is all about football! I have never referenced our love of the game before, even though it’s a large part of our holiday season. I am just like my grandmother, one of the biggest football fans I have ever seen in my life. She wouldn’t even talk to you on the phone during a game!

I still can’t believe Marie’s first word was touchdown. Guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!

The Secret is Out–I am a 2013 Creative Team Member for Project Life!

I know that for some of you today this is the first time you have visited my website and I am happy to say, Welcome! Welcome! It’s been nearly impossible to keep this secret and I am SO GLAD that today I can finally talk about it with people that are part of the Project Life community. (All but one of my “non-internet friends” is a scrapbooker–so when I try to tell people about this in real life they, sadly, have no idea what I am talking about.)

Last year was my first year using Project Life for memory-keeping and I can honestly say I was hooked from week one. I can still remember placing my first picture in template A (I’m all digital) and exclaiming to my husband how cool it was that I was going to use a digital stamp, to create a little box, so that I could type in how much my daughter loves donuts. Seriously…it was as if instantly I realized how easy it was going to be to record “the little things” that would make our album such an amazing record of our lives. I absolutely cannot wait to assemble the year together in a few weeks and see it all in printed form. I am sure it will make me cry!

Prior to using Project Life I would tell people I was a scrapbooker, but in all honesty I was probably more of a hoarder of cute embellishments and papers. Every once in awhile I would complete a layout, but the only thing I ever did with consistency was December Daily. (I am in the middle of year number four!) SO GLAD that’s all changed. Like anything, once you get in the rhythm it’s no extra effort at all to jot down a quote or take a photo with a phone. So easy. So…..if you are on the fence, CLIMB OVER IT. Drink the kool-aid. I am telling you–it really is a very liberating and easy way to get your memories down.

Thank you again for stopping by today–I hope that you will continue to do so throughout the year. Before you go, I invite you to take a look around and view the layouts I have completed so far. I posted every single week of this past year right here on the blog, or you can view them on my pinterest board. If you are on Facebook I would love for you to visit my page and become a fan. (Facebook is where I will do a majority of my posting this coming year, besides this blog.)

As I mentioned above, I am all digital. (Which, incidentally, is WAY easier to do than you think. If the computer intimidates you–seriously don’t let that stop you. I had no idea how to do any of this just a short time ago, and all I did was buy a pdf course online and I taught myself. Honestly…there are really only 4-5 commands I use in photoshop, nothing I do is too crazy! If you have ANY questions ask away. I also saw that Jessica Sprague is offering a class.) I am a few days behind on December Daily, which for some reason is the only time I scrap really “fancy,” but I just happen to have my week 50 for Project Life already completed. This will give you a good idea of what you will see from me throughout the year.

Right Side:

I am finding that Project Life in December is super, super fun. These weeks are coming together so easy, as I enjoy the embellishments and papers that are all holiday themed. The silhouettes you see above are actually of my girls (I do silhouette ornaments each year for our tree). If you are interested in making your own this tutorial is how I do it.

Congratulations to all of my fellow team members. It’s going to be a GREAT year!

Have a happy Monday!

Jessica - So happy you made it on PL team, I love your work! Hopefully it gets my butt in gear to get my PL done. Congrats

Michelle L. - Hi Heather! I was so happy to see some MN representation on the Project Life team– and then I stumbled over to your blog, and can see that you’re almost right in my backyard! :) Love your photos, and wanted to wish you a hearty congratulations on making the team. Will look forward to seeing your work throughout the year and some familiar sights in your photos. Merry Christmas!

admin - Thank you so much Michelle! One of the other team members, Nisa, is right here in Saint Paul as well. If you post your pages on a blog, send it along! I love to see what people are doing around town:)

admin - Thank you so much Jessica! (And thanks for the shout out on FB, too, you made my day!)

Nisa - Congrats lady!!!
Love your PL pages- and *swoon* over the silhouettes! LOVE.

admin - Thanks Nisa! I laughed when I saw you were on the creative team as well–I thought, whoa–she is going to love my layouts this week, I am using TWO of her products:) Incidentally I am SO JEALOUS you are able to send your kiddos to Waldorf–I would love to send my kids there. My oldest just finished up three years at Country Day Preschool in Mendota which focuses somewhat on the same thing and is nature based. My youngest will start next fall.

Digital December Daily : Day 11

It started out as a photo that I caught by accident back in 2009.

The following year I had Holly sit in the chair again so I could show how much she had grown.

In 2011 I had a newborn during December, and while I thought about putting them both in the chair, I was too tired to do it.

Today I had them sit together in the same chair, reading the same Millie books from 2009.

Makes my heart just melt. Here is Day 11, 2012:
