It’s to be expected I suppose…but this December Daily book is really baby-focused!  Here is page 5.  The journaling reads: Here are the scenes these days around the house.  We have bottles of milk versus glasses of eggnog, and instead of hurrying about town we have lots of cuddling with the baby.  And of course, we have big sister on watch making sure no nap is disturbed!

 

Still plugging away at my December Daily album.  Glad to be sticking with it–it’s always worth it in the end!  Here is a look at Days 3 and 4.  Day 3 profiles our new advent calendar this year.  The journaling reads: This was the year of the advent calendar.  Found this adorable garland of mittens on Grand Avenue last month, and Holly LOVES to find out each morning what new ornament awaits her!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Day 4 is all about Holly’s time with “Cake.”  (That’s her term of endearment for my mom–all because they played patty-cake on the computer when Holly was young!)  While I was in and out of the hospital in the days surrounding Marie’s birth my mom was holding down the fort here at home.  I do believe that Holly and my mom had a great time having the house to themselves!  They played a slew of games (real and imaginary) together, but none as much fun as the make-up party that took place every morning.  The journaling reads: Between newborn duties and multiple hospital stays for me these past few days, Holly and “Cake” have had the chance to spend a lot of time together.  Their favorite activity?  Make-up parties in the morning!

 

The second day of December brought me back to the hospital.  (The baby and I were originally discharged on Nov 29th.)  Not something in our plan but a visit that was truly needed.  By the time I came back home I was feeling MUCH better!  The journaling reads: Our December started out with an unexpected visit to the Emergency Room for me.  I ended up with an infection from my surgery and had to stay 2 days in the hospital.  Definitely NOT how I wanted to start the holiday season!

This is my third year participating in December Daily, seriously one of the most favorite creative projects I am a part of!  Previous years have been quite easy, but having a newborn coinciding with the holiday this season has been REALLY challenging.  With not a whole lot of time to complete anything during the day or night, and a stomach bug that hit the entire family the week before Christmas, I am behind.  (But determined to complete it!)

Hopefully sharing pages here will give me the motivation to keep going.  So without further ado–here is page one.  The journaling reads: This December is magical in a very different way–meet Baby Marie!  Born on November 25th, she is the most perfect additon to our family. So excited for our first family Christmas of four!
