December Daily – Day Two

Here are my Day Two pages.  We have a lot of fun holiday themed stuff coming up today, including a visit to Santa, so I wanted to make sure that one day in this album was dedicated to Holly’s dance class.  (The girl LIVES to dance!)  That’s what I love about this project the most, you can really make it anything you would like.  Not only do you get to record holiday traditions…but also glimpse a little bit of everyday life.  I may  not get a chance to scrapbook again for months, but I always feel good knowing that if nothing else I am able to record December!

I am REALLY hopeful that today will go well.  We haven’t been able to sit on Santa’s lap yet, as she has always been too scared, but this year Holly seems really into it.  Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

Laura - Your pictures are beautiful — they convey a sense of happiness and movement.

Angie - I love this page of yours. The photography, the checklist and how you circled the day. Beautiful!

Vieve - Gorgeous! I can’t even tell if this is a digital page or a paper page? If digital where did you get that ruler strip?

admin - This is a digital page, but I believe the ruler is part of the paperpack from Echo Park Everybody Love’s Christmas line. I just love the colors!

Marie L - This is so beautiful – the picture, the embellishments. I love everything about it.

Alana in Canada - Beautiful.

cia - Such a cute little sugar plum fairy : ) I know it is an “everyday” post but the ballet aspect of it still makes me think December!

Elizabeth A - Lovely pages.

Amy - Beautiful photos! Love the coloring!

remi - I loovve the look and aged feel of this classtime photo.

JoyfulHeart Photography - great job, Heather!

December Daily–Day One

Here it is…my two-page spread for day one this year!  I will refrain from telling you just  how long I worked on this, but let’s just say it’s a good thing I create these digitally.  I would hate to think  what the table would have looked like had glue and scissors been involved!  I am really looking  forward to my project this year, and building on the foundation I started last year.  This time  around I am designing a 12 x 12 album with two pages per day.  (The 8 x 8 from last year is already  getting hard to read and I am not that old!  I have decided it’s just way too small.)

Supplies this year were mainly bought at jessicasprague.com.  I opted for the Everybody Loves Christmas line from Echo Park, and had the BEST time creating a keepsake silhouette ornament with Holly thanks to Nisa Finn.   The journaling on page two reads: The Christmas season is officially underway and this year is all about starting new traditions. For the past few years we have looked at the tree and felt like it was missing something. We knew that we would want to look at our tree years from now and remember special things about each year, so this December we decided to let Holly pick out her own special ornaments to hang. She fell in love with the nutcrackers, or “peoples” as she calls them. I decided my contribution would be to create silhouettes of Holly that I could turn into ornaments. I think we achieved our goal-this year the tree is full of the beginnings of special memories…we can’t wait to see how it changes year to year.

I hope there are some of you out there following along and creating an album too.  Be sure to let me know–I love seeing the creativity out there!

Alana in Canada - This is a fabulous page and a wonderful idea. I truly wish I had done sihouettes of my children when they had those cute chubby child faces. We picked up a Christmas ornament on our family vacation this year: I don’t mind starting that as a new tradition for us!

JoyfulHeart Photography - what a wonderful gift you are doing for your family!! Love it!

November Evenings — Minneapolis/St Paul Family Photographer

Tonight was the kind of night I live for.  The weather was absolutely perfect.  I spent most of the late afternoon in a t-shirt!

I had a super sweet couple to photograph who introduced me to a great new location.  (Apparently I am late to the party, I swear we saw 5-6 other professionals taking pics!)  I have so many images that I love from this session, but there is something about this one that is my favorite.  It’s a great example of catching a moment that is pretty much invisible to the naked eye–a moment when you can see real emotion and the connection between two people.

Yup, definitely the kind of night I live for.

Sam is Growing Up! — Minneapolis/St Paul Children’s Photographer

Remember Sam?  I had the pleasure to take some more photos of him last night, and this image is one of my favorites!  It makes me remember to bring up a few interesting points about photo shoots 1) 95% of the time you will find me in yoga pants lying on the ground in some bizarre position that will make people stare (but I know WILL get the shot) and 2) kids dictate how we spend our time–I let THEM set the pace.  Little Sam was in no mood for pictures last night, so I happily let him do whatever he needed to do until he felt comfortable.  We tried the stroller, we tried walking, we tried sitting, we tried standing.  After awhile I suggested the park.

We can see how that worked out!

Janet Moon Photography - Love the natural smile and the vibrant colors!

JoyfulHeart Photography - Cute cute cute!!!!

remi - Great image!! Wonderful bokeh and aTACK sharp baby caught in motion. And look at that SUPERB expression!!
