I can hardly believe December is a day away! Thankfully I sat down tonight and attempted to get a handle on my December Daily project, time is running out. I unfortunately am never one to do DD a) simply or b) prepared ahead. I wish I could, but I just can’t seem think that way. I work so much better choosing the layout of the templates after I have the photos taken, and since I have been able to complete my book since 2009 I am not going to change now:) Something must be working right?!
I have decided to go with a template this album this year however, which should make it a bit easier to keep up. (Every year, except 2011 when Marie was a newborn, I did traditional layouts every single day.) I really struggled last year doing both Project Life and December Daily, so I think using an album without a lot of layers will do the trick. My plan is to keep December Daily only for Holiday related events, traditions, and reflections and use Project Life as the record of our week which is what I did last year.
I love the look of Nettio Design’s Holiday templates so I am combining her Holiday Faves albums from 2012 and 2013 for my layouts. For my papers and color scheme I have chosen Echo Park’s Tis the Season collection–I can’t seem to get enough of the whole dark gray/black/charcoal look so I am going with it. I actually like how each year is representative of the color trend/obsession I was having at the time–it’s another way these albums are like a little time capsule! When I am finished I will upload all of my pages to Shutterfly and print it all into a nice bound hardcover 12×12 book. If you are considering doing a digital album, and using Shutterfly as your printer, be sure to check out my post on how to get 12×12 pages ready for Shutterfly. (That post deals mainly with Project Life pages, but it’s the same process.)
I will have to do some hunting down of past posts detailing out previous years, but for a quick look at how December Daily 2012 turned out check out this post.
Onto my album! Here is a look at the front cover. LOVE the whole patchwork look…what do you all think, should I leave it like this, or swap out some pictures for the patterned paper?:
And here is a shot of the Introduction Page:
I am really excited to begin. Tomorrow we pick out our tree–which even though is November 30th will probably be our day one. I will never remember that 20 years from now!!!
