Welcome to Week Thirty-Six! Each week I share my most recent Project Life spread, it’s truly become one of my favorite things about this website. I am on a roll these past few days, I have completed wks 34-36 and now am beginning to work on week 37. I really need to figure out what to do with my inserts, but I am waiting until my HSN package arrives today with the Just Add Color kit. I took so many instagrams in August that I am dying to use the new square page protectors and cute little cards!!
If you have stopped by my blog before, welcome back! If you are new you can learn more about how to get started with digital project life by checking out some of my past posts. My most popular digital memory-keeping posts have been Project Life Tips (written after my first six months of scrapbooking) and Digital Project Life Tips which is filled with links to some great tutorials online that are free AND will have you up and going in no time digitally. All of my digital project life pages are here on my blog, or for an even easier way to view them follow me on Pinterest. One thing you will notice that is different about my layouts is that I use a double-mat effect for all of my pages. If you are interested in learning how to resize your Becky Higgins templates to create this look, and would like a free download of my template, check out this post. Now onto week 36!
What we were up to this week: Headed back from NY, Marie’s first day of preschool, and Holly’s last week of being a kid. (Her words all week, not mine!) We had kindergarten conferences and fun at the Mall. Really a great week.
Techniques used this week: I enlarged a brush over an entire photo, which I really liked. I took a picture of Holly in the dentist’s chair, and since the photo itself didn’t tell too much of a story I thought it would look great to document the occasion with a ticket stamp. At first I put it in the left corner of the photo–but then decided it need to make a statement so I enlarged it over the entire photo and then faded it out a bit by adjusting the opacity. LOVE it.
DSLR Photos Vs Iphone Photos: ALL iphone! (This probably had something to do with the fact that my big camera was being shipped from NY to MN and was in transit all week.)
Favorite Photo of the Week: I like a ton of the photos this week, but I have to say my favorite is probably the one of Holly in the hot air ballon ride. I like the colors in the photos, how happy she was, and the composition. This was taken with instagram, and I can’t wait to make this into a magnet! (Do you all know about stickygram? It’s soooo cool!)
Other thoughts: This is one of my favorite weeks ever, and certainly the prettiest I have completed in quite some time. The kit itself isn’t something I would typically say is my style…but OMG…I love it. All of the colors and the designs, it just came together so pretty and quickly.
Supplies used this week: Listed in the icons below. The ticket stamp used on the dentist photo is one by Katie Pertiet at designerdigitals.com. I bought it in 2008, I have no idea if it’s even around anymore!
