Scheduling Your Session
All sessions take place on location or in your home using natural light. If you do not have a specific place in mind, please feel free to check out our explore locations option on our homepage menu, or contact me and I will work with you to find a location that will best suit you and/or your family.
Sessions typically last 1 to 2 hours, including newborn sessions. You are welcome to do as many wardrobe changes as time permits.
If you are interested in scheduling a session with us please use my contact page to inquire about available dates and times, or schedule online. Please note that session fees are due at time of booking to reserve your time/date and are non-refundable. All session descriptions and fees are listed below.
Once scheduled you will receive a welcome packet from me as well as a request to set up your pre-consultation appointment. This pre-consultation appointment is a time where we will go over what to expect at your session and address any questions or concerns you might have. The question I get the most is “What do we wear,” so I have created a board on Pinterest for inspiration. Be sure to check it out!
After Your Session
Within 24 hours, a “sneak peek” will be posted online for you to view and enjoy via my facebook page. Approximately 5 business days after your that, proofs of all of your images will be available to you to view in a private online gallery. This gallery will remain online for ten days. While active, I will contact you to set up an in-home ordering session if prints are desired. (If only digital images are desired, payment and delivery happens instantly.)
If a print order has been placed, please allow 2 to 4 weeks for final processing and delivery.
Session Fees
Session fees are due at the time of booking, and are non-refundable. The session fee includes:
- a pre-session consultation
- a welcome packet
- a 60 to 120 minute portrait session at the location of your choice (longer for newborns)
- custom processing and retouching of each image (20-30 images)
- a private online gallery
- an ordering consultation at your home, or on location
- lots of fun, laughter, and smiles!
Please note that prints are sold separately.
CHILD(REN) SESSION : $175
Portrait session for up to three children. (Please add $25 for each additional child.) This session typically lasts 1-2 hours.
FAMILY SESSION : $200
Portrait session for up to five family members. (Please add $25 for each additional person.) This session typically lasts 1.5-2 hours.
NEWBORN SESSION : $200
Portrait session for a baby 3-10 days old. These sessions are almost always at your home.
***Special note regarding newborn sessions: Please contact me prior to your baby being born to schedule. However, if your baby was just born do not hesitate to call as I try to have time set aside for these types of sessions should the need arise.
SENIOR SESSION : $275
Portrait session for a high school senior. This session includes:
- 2 to 3 hour portrait session in up to three locations
- as many wardrobe changes as time permits
STANDARD MINI-SESSION : $100
Portrait session for one person/child. (Please add $25 for each additional person/child.) This session is 20 minutes in length and is perfect for recording a special moment, relationship, or milestone.
Mini-session are available on weekdays and only at certain locations within St Paul. Please inquire for details.
Investment
Heather Johnson Photography currently offers digital images for purchase at a price of $50 each. Clients are not required to order photos from their session, but if an order is placed a minimum of five images must be selected for purchase. If the whole session is desired, all images from the session are available for a discounted price of $495. A typical (non-mini) session will result in a minimum of 20 images, often more. All images are enlargeable up to 8×10. Digital images will only be delivered via a private online gallery with hi-resolution download capability.
Prints start at $50. Only prints 11×14 and larger are currently available for ordering through Heather Johnson Photography. Canvas wraps and other specialty items are also available.
50% of your total is due at the time of your order, with the remaining balance due at order pick-up.
